• How can I obtain my smartDAX' hostid?
  The easiest way to obtain the smartDAX hostid is by using the DAXmanager configuration tool. Connect to the smartDAX system and click the 'SmartDAX configuration' button in the top menu. You will find the hostid there. If you don't have access to a browser, you can obtain the smartDAX' hostid by logging in using 'telnet' or direct connection to the console and manually run the hostid command on the command line:smartdax# hostid, 80870fc0
• How can I obtain server's hostid?
  The hostid can be found in the license section of the smartDAX Control Center which can be found in the 'DAXfs settings' section. 
• After changing/adding a Network Interface Card (NIC) on our Windows NT system, the DAXfs won't work. Why not?
  On a Windows NT system the hostid (which is used to enable the software with the passwords) is derived from the NIC's MAC (Ethernet) address. If the NIC is changed, or one is added to the system, this hostid might have changed. In that case you will need to apply for a new password. Please contact us.
• How can I change the smartDAX DAXjbc and/or DAXsj password?
  The easiest way to change the smartDAX device driver password(s) is by using the DAXmanager configuration tool. Connect to the smartDAX system and click the 'SmartDAX Configuration' button in the top menu. You will find the password(s) there. 
  Enter the password(s) and click 'Change' to effectuate the change.
  If you don't have access to a browser you will need to change the password manually. Log on to the system (as the root user) and edit the file /etc/system (using 'vi'). Change the following lines in the /etc/system file to match your new password:
  set DAX_cdr:cdr_password="ETUYVDWN7RKT"
  set DAX_sj:sj_password="ETUYVDWN7RKT"
• How can I change the DAXfs license on the server?
  The server license can be set from the 'License keys' section of the 'DAXfs Settings'.
  Change the license key and press 'Update license'. The DAXfs daemons will be restarted to activate the new license key.
