The DAX Broadcast Archive provides a complete media asset management and archive solution. It is a powerful solution which transforms a static storage environment into an environment where users can efficiently share and manage their video files/clips.

Images are stored permanently on DVD, Blu-ray Disc or Digital Tape while an internal hard disk cache provides instant and easy access to the most recently archived and retrieved images.

Metadata is automatically extracted from the files, previews are generated and more metadata can be added manually. 

Unique is its support for time code and sub clips.  An entry in a DVA catalog can represent not just a media file such as a movie or a still but also a clip within a movie, described by its time code In and Out values.  All assets are automatically archived from the on-line storage to the deep archive.

Users browse the preview clips and issue the retrieval of (complete clip) high resolution content by means of a simple mouse click.

The management policies determine which and when files are removed from the on-line hard disk storage. The automatic storage management provides automatic archiving of all files to a deep archive.
